What we made for The Rath Project X Housing Works Design on a Dime:

The Rath Project exhibited at the event for the first time in 2022, after being long-time patrons and lovers of the mission. For their exhibit, they created a Willy Wonka and Don Draper inspired dining room area. The piece de resistance was a Custom Neon sign to finish the room. The Willy Wonka quote 'everything from this room is edible…' is lit up in our striking white shade and Freehand font type. It adorns a simple navy-blue wall for a stunning impactful effect.

Much inspiration also comes from Diane Rath's childhood, having grown up with a mother who owned her own candy store, much like Willy Wonka. Morgan told us, "In addition to our imagining of this world, our vignette serves as an homage to Diane's own past and her late mother; Diane literally grew up in a candy shop with a Mom just as wonky as Willy, and now she enjoys a good martini as much as Don."

Knowing this gives the space deeper meaning, making the decor pieces more evocative and unique. It is a truly inspired space, and Custom Neon is proud to have been a part of it.
